Extension Evaluate

The Evaluate server-based software collects baseline clinical alarm and alert data from various clinical systems. Extension characterizes alarms as patient events triggered by regulated medical devices such as patient monitors and vents. Alerts are characterized as patient events triggered by non-regulated devices such as nurse call and order entries. Reports are generated after the data collection period for alarm safety committees so that they may begin prioritizing their most important alarms and alerts.

Armed with this baseline data, alarm safety committees can:
•Gain visibility into how effective the current alarm and alert policies and procedures are
•Adjust policies and procedures as necessary for managing alarm threshold limits on patient monitoring devices
•Glean insight on the effectiveness of ECG lead application on monitored patients
•View the aggregate number of alarms and alerts by type that are generated per-room, per-unit, and house-wide
